Climate change is happening
Still don’t believe in climate change? In 2009, it was the second hottest year ever recorded capping the hottest decade on record. Then, in 2010, record temperatures were set in 17 countries along with other associated ecological disasters:
- In Pakistan, almost 14 million people have been afflicted by the torrential rain with 1,600 deaths and rising.
- In Russia, 5,000 people died in the country’s worst heatwave in living memory. Temperatures in Moscow were consistently 20 degrees above normal.
- In China, 702 people died in the August floods in Gansu province.
- In the U.S., five cities experienced their highest ever temperatures.
- And in Australia, the Bushfire Royal Commission revealed that the ‘Black Saturday’ bushfires cost the economy $4.4 billion on top of the lives lost.
